Welcome to the CCHR London Group
We are part of a worldwide organisation that was founded to raise awareness amongst the general public of the un-scientific nature and the damaging practices of psychiatry.
Psychiatry's beginnings began with many horrifying and barbaric practices which were passed off as cures, some of which are still practiced today such as electro-convulsive treatment, otherwise known as shock therapy. This has culminated in the mass drugging of both adults and children for so called "mental illnesses" that have no biological or physiological tests to support their existence.
Whilst working with those in London who have become victims of the mental health system, I have uncovered some of the most flagrant abuses of human rights that pass undetected or are simply ignored.
These include persons identified as having a so-called mental illness, who are then forcibly taken from their homes, incarcerated, held down and injected with powerful mind-altering drugs at the first sign of protest.
Seeking redress from these human rights violations, one has to persevere with a lengthy process of procedures that often frustrate and disillusion the complainant.
Putting this in perspective, from this type of human rights violation, that usually stems from a consultation lasting no more than a few minutes, it can take more than ten years before any sort of justice is pronounced.
The new Mental Health Bill is designed to strengthen these powers and if suceeding in all its proposals will mean that more people will be diagnosed with mental illness and laws enacted that will make it easier to seize, detain and drug individuals. Futhermore, it will include powers to forcibly drug people in their own homes.
This has got to stop now!
The mental health system, under the influence of psychiatry, is acting outside of any normal legal framework that monitors social behaviour. Murderers, sex offenders and terrorists are treated more humanely and with a greater degree of justice than the individual, who, by whatever means, finds himself within the mental health system.
Therefore, our message is simple:
We must no longer tolerate the gross violations of individuals' human rights that are being brought about through psychiatry and which are precipitated by the unscientific diagnoses and labelling of mental illnesses.
It is now time for psychiatry to be brought back under the law, deprived of their unearned millions in appropriations and the world made safe.
