WEB COMMENT: It's Complex. From WPC's Board meeting minutes of April 20, 2006-Topic: CAPS meeting WP Fieldhouse 4/12/06 Re: Security in the Park. "Discussion: J. Lake reported that there were 80 attendees. He said that prior to the meeting he distributed (100 copies) of news articles (and 100 neighborhood watch signs) about the shooting incident and encouraged park (basketball) players to attend. He discussed that as a reprsentative, it is his object to get everyone to express their views. Some suggestions brought up at the meeting were: 1. to take down the basketball rims, as has been done in other parks; 2. use of security camera surveillance. J. Lake reported that he thought the shooting incident was a complex situation (CPD Wicker Park) and more facts needed to be gathered for analysis; and the security issue was not resolved at this meeting" ********************************************************************************** October 1, 2006 STNG Wire Reports "Off-duty policeman shoots man in Wicker Park" See Message Board-General October 1 , 2006 at: Wicker Park Message Board
