Name: Miranda Carter Nickname: Randi
Place of birth: Born -Dublin/ Raised-Glen Ellyn,Illinois/ Living Brooklyn, New York. Age: 25 About: Standing at 5'7, loud talking Randi is a tough cookie.She'll take no nonsense from anybody. Far from being a girly girl Randi took to Ice-hockey and sports while other little girls her age attended ballet classes. Fun-loving,wity and bold in her comments, Randi cannot be mistaken for having a shy personality and will do whatever it takes to have fun. Randi loves nothing but going for a drink or fifty with the lads and a table dance or bar dance is her idea of a perfect way to finish the night. A singer at heart Randi gave up her passion to get back at her mother for her heartache. Unable to resist she now sings karaoke anywhere she can and can still manage to shock her colleagues with her voice. Background: Randi had a tough life growing up and that didn't change in adulthood. Coming from a big family, it was Randi's older brother Perry who kept the girls alive and safe when their parents left to travel after the death of their eldest son to lukemia. At the tender age of four years old Randi (along with all 9 of her brothers and sisters) was uprooted from her birthplace of Dublin, Ireland and moved to Chicago to live with her wealthy grandparents, where it was all dinner parties and fame, not the loving family environment she and her siblings so desperately craved. Just 2 weeks shy of her 15th birthday Randi gave birth to her son,Jay and raised him single handedly in her grandparents home until she moved herself and the young child to New York to live with the boys father. Randi quickly settled into life as a Paramedic in the 55th Precinct, Manhatten but when the opportunity arose for her to move across the street to the Elite Anti Crime Unite (ACU) of the Camelot Police Station she jumped at the opportunity. Just last year Randi was seriously injured in the line of Duty. After a bombing at an ex-boyfriends brothers funeral Randi ended up in the waiting room of Angel of Mercy Hospital, NYC where gunmen took out the room that her and fellow cops were in before going on a ramapge through the hospital. After being shot in the shoulder and thigh Randi joined in the search through the hospital to find the gunmen but was shot an extra three times to the back and stomach, Loosing the baby she'd been carrying. After serving 5 years working as Sergeant to a team of ten men, 'her family' ,alongside her best friend Randi was devastated when the tragic day came that the station was attacked and bombed and closed for good. Randi had the choice of being transffered to work as a sergeant in the 57th (Bedsty) station alongside her sisters husband or be transffered to the New York crime lab to be promoted to Detective to work for major cases and wasted no time in making her decision. Today: Randi is quickly settling into life as a Homicide Detective at the NYC crime lab alongside friends, Danny and Aiden. Upset and struggling with the strained relationship she has with now eleven year old Jay. She's trying her best to keep a balance between home life and work. Recently, Randi, with the help of sisters Grace and Mary and her Grandmothers money, has opened up the Megan Carter Youth group for disadvantaged youngsters to keep them out of trouble. With seperate rooms for younger kids and teenagers the youth group is fast becoming a hideaway for young kids trying to stay away from the streets. Unkown to friends and volunteers (Excluding Aiden Burn) The youth group is named Megan Carter Youth Group as a reminder of her unborn child, whom she lost after being shot in the Mercy shooting. Cleverly designed bright red t-shirts with a multi-coloured rainbow embroidered Megan Carter Youth group are worn by all volunteers at the centre. Red dominates the shirts and is a reminder of the death of the child while the rainbow colours show the brightness the child left behind in her mother and father's hearts while showing how wonderful and colourful children can be. Relationships: After a hard divorce from ex-husband Bobby 2 years after their marriage begun, Randi moved on with her life and vowed never to settle again 'use men as they use you'. With brief 'encounters' with most of the fire department and police station, including Danny Messer, Randi built herself a reputation within the police force. It's quickly made known that Randi and Danny Messer have a history on her first day as a CSI. It's love at first sight when Randi meets Don Flack (much to Danny's chagrin). He's the kid of guy she's always dreamed of but never knew existed. She looks set to give up on her rule. They met briefly in the past but love soon blossoms as the two work together to stay alive after a tragic accident. Now seven months pregnant with Don's child, the couple and Jay have moved into a new house in Manhattan's, East Village with the help of the Carter childrens trust fund.

*About: Jess is the new kid on the block and very much wet behind the ears as far as being a CSI is concerned. Comparatively young anyway, Jess can often give off the impression of being even younger than she is; both on account of an idealistic nature, a generally understated appearance and a youthful enthusiasm.*
*Still though, Jess has a tendency to surprise those around her - whether it be by swallowing her fear to confront suspects or through her like of more extreme activities. From these activities, it is flying that Jess loves the most - a passion acquired from her
father's job. Whilst her job and surroundings prevent the CSI from taking to the skies
as much as she'd like, her pilot's licence does allow her the freedom to fly when she can find the time.***
*Jess has found out that since her move to the Big Apple, that she’s had as much to learn outside the lab as in it – and there have certainly been those within the lab who have been prepared to take the wide-eyed CSI under their wing to help her find her feet in the
city. Naturally quiet and shy, it hasn’t been an easy ride for Jess as, despite her
determination, work ethic and kind nature, her confidence and optimism have taken quite a battering since her arrival in the lab.*
*Her injuries following the plane crash in Aspen, a failed relationship with a doctor named Luke, the explosion at the lab and the trashing of her apartment all combined to leave the young CSI disillusioned and questioning her decision to move to the city. Her understated toughness combined with much support from her new found friends and a blossoming
relationship with Adam have helped her to move on from these experiences. Still though, it is clear that these events have impacted Jess’ view of life; causing her to increasingly open
up to those around her, take a more realistic view of the world and attempt to seize the
day more than she ever has done in the past.*
*Background: Jess’ father is a military man, serving in the RAF. As such, despite a loving family, she was sent off to boarding school in England at a young age to gain consistency in her education despite her seemingly constantly moving home. In this environment,
Jess flourished academically, but could never quite get her head around the social scene.*
*Ahead for her age, Jess went off to university in the UK . During this time, she was offered the chance for a year abroad at Harvard and was quick to take advantage of this opportunity. Since then, she’s never looked back. After graduating back in the UK, Jess
immediately moved over to New York to make good of an offer that Mac Taylor made to her –the opportunity to train up to become a CSI. She has been living in New York for a year now, having completed a year with NYPD, but has kept herself to herself. It is only now that she is moving to the lab to follow the career path of her choice. *
*Relationships:* *Ever since her arrival in the lab, Jess has taken a liking to Adam. Still though, it has taken her a while to realise that the feeling runs both ways. The shyness of both, accompanied by Jess’ worries following her relationship with Luke, has led to the
relationship taking its time to blossom. As Jess gradually rebuilds her confidence following her first eventful year though, she can’t help but look ahead to a potential future with the lab tech.*
