Texas Rivers
And Lakes
There are 3,700 named streams and 15 major rivers that meander through the Texas landscape. Along the way, water that eventually flows into seven major estuaries, supports over 212 reservoirs. Each year Texas rivers and streams provide recreational opportunities to millions of Texans and visitors from all over the world.
Below are two very cool sites for boater's looking for public boat ramps, as well as canoe and kayakers, looking for river access points. I LOVE THIS WEBSITE!
Use the clickable map to get to the area you are wanting access to. This site gives you a map and every detail about the access point, such as whether it's a concrete ramp or dirt canoe access points at bridge crossings. It even gives you a picture of it, tells you about parking, lighting, bait, camping, etc. These are new TPWD sites and some parts are still under construction but it's terrific so far.
