A Short History of The Mass

By Alfred McBride, O.Praem..
"No one can fully express the sweetness of this sacrament, in which spiritual delight is tasted at its very source, and in which we renew the memory of that surpassing love for us which Christ revealed in his passion."
-Thomas Aquinas, from homily for feast of Corpus Christi-

"From the Last Supper to the Mass of the Apostles, from house churches to medieval cathedrals, from the Tridentine Mass to the sweeping reforms of Vatican II, the Mass has undergone many changes in two thousand years.  Yet, for Catholics, the Mass is the source and summit of our faith and remains, at its core, eternally unchanged and unchanging."

Drinking from a Dry Well

By Thomas H. Green.
A sequel to the classic When The Well Runs Dry - More than a decade after writing what was to become a classic of modern spiritual literature, Fr. Thomas Green returns to the "dry well" to share what the last ten years have shown him. He explores the dryness and finds there a spot where both mature pray-ers and active contemplatives "can be at home" and can learn to live gracefully "drinking from the dry well of prayer."

When The Well Runs Dry
When the Well Runs Dry has been a source of wisdom and guidance for people serious about prayer. Now a revised edition makes Fr. Thomas Green's classic work available to a new generation seeking guidance in prayer. He offers a clear explanation of what the difficulties and consolations of mature prayer are all about. He makes the wisdom of Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, and Ignatius of Loyola accessible.

Faith Of Our Fathers

By James Cardinal Gibbons.
This is the best book for introducing the Catholic faith to non-Catholics. Cardinal Gibbons does an excellent job in adequately addressing all the Protestant charges against the Catholic Church

Faith of the Early Fathers, v I, II, and III

By William A. Jurgens.
In this three-volume set the early church fathers speak for themselves.  Volume I covers the Pre-Nicene and Nicene eras; Volume II covers the Post-Nicene era through St. Jerome; and Volume III covers St. Augustine to the end of the patristic period
Customer Reviews
Without exception the best collection of early church teachers. In addition to the writings of the early church is a thorough general index but more than that an invaluable doctrinal index to find the seeds of virtually every doctrine imaginable. Do not presume to understand early church history without this reference.
