Sorrowful Mysteries
THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN
Our Father, who art in heaven,hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
1) Jesus came with them to Gethesmane. And sadness came over him, and great distress. (Matt 26:36, 37)

2) Then he said, 'My soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Wait here and keep awake with me.' (Matt 26:38)

THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR

1) They had Jesus bound and handed him over to Pilate. Pilate questioned him, 'Are you the king of the Jews?' (Mark 15:1, 2)

6) Despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows. (Isaiah 53:3)

THE CROWNING WITH THORNS

1) The soldiers led him away to the Praetorium. Then they stripped him and dressed him up in purple. (Mark 15:16,17; Matt 27:28)

6) Jesus then came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. (John 19:5)
