Statement of Faith  of The Prayer Foundation

Summary:

(1.)  The Bible is the Word of God.

(2.)  There is only One God, Creator of all creation: three Persons in Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(3.)  God became flesh in Christ Jesus; born of a Virgin, conceived of the Holy Spirit.

(4.)  Christ atoned for our sins through His death and shed blood on the cross.

(5.)  Christ rose bodily from the grave and ascended into Heaven; conquering death and proving that He is God.

(6.)  Salvation is only through Christ; available now to all through repentance, faith towards God, and being born again as a new creation in Christ.

(7.)  Christ shall return, there will be a final judgment of eternal reward and eternal punishment.

God's Word:______________________________________________________________________

(1)  The Bible is our Sole Authority for Faith and Life.

The Bible does not contain the Word of God, it is the Word of God.  It is supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, inexpressible in value, infinite in scope, regenerative in power, infallible in authority, universal in interest, personal in application, inspired in totality.

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."  - John 17:17

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"  -II Timothy 3:16

2)  The nature of God is One God manifested in three Persons: the Trinity.

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:  and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."  -Matthew 3:16,17

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:"  -Matthew 28:19

(3)  A. The Deity of Christ.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the  glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."   -John 1:1,14

"For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."  -Colossians 2:9

      B. The Virgin Birth.

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit."  -Matthew 1:18

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."  -Matthew 1:23 (Isaiah 7:14)

(4)  Sin separates man from God.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"  -Roman3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  -Romans 6:23

(5)  The Resurrection and Ascension of Christ.

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures;"  -I Corinthians 15:3,4

"Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise us up also by Jesus, shall present us with you."  -II Corinthians 4:14

"So then, after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God."  -Mark 16:19

(6)   Salvation by Faith Alone.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  -Ephesians 2:8,9

"And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise, grace is no more grace.  But if it be of works, then is it no more grace:"  -Romans 11:6
