This is a VERY nice RV Resort type of park. It is rated WWWWW from Woodall and a 10/10/10 from Trailer Life. Good Sams rates as second in the country out of 100 top camping sites. This is very well maintained/landscape campgound. Nice level, paved sites, all roads are paved. The landscaping between sites allows for good privacy. It is located a 1/4 of a mile from the ocean using a paved walking path/road. The campground runs hourly shuttles to the beach during the summer months and shuttles every two hours during the winter months. We have been there at least six times in the last 2 years and have never had any problems with the campground or anything else for that matter. The restrooms are some of the cleanest we have ever seen in a campgound. There are ample laundry facilities. Both restrooms and laundry facilites are heated/air conditioned. The campground also has a swimming pool, shuffle board, volleyball etc. As well as an air conditioned meeting clubhouse. This used to be a private campground and a few years ago the state of Florida purchased it to incorporate it into the state park system. This is VERY quiet campground, it tends to lean toward the retired crowd, but there are childern of all ages there to. My teenage son enjoys going here.

Very nice park. Lots to do. Very fishing friendly. Has good sites, can accomodate Big Rigs. Has canals in campground with many sites backed up to water. Easy access to Thunderbay River from campground. Rent Pontoons, kayaks, bikes, etc. Also 6 miles to Alpena, for many activities, biking, and excellent Salmon and Lake Trout fishing. Many charters in area. Very kid friendly, which may be good or bad, depends on the person. Only drawback is small airport accross river from camp.

Hi all, This is a beautiful park with all of the amenities. The staff are kind and helpful, the scenery is breath taking, and Shenanigans is within walking distance of the strip. The park and facilities are kept spotless. What a joy to stay here. We will stay again. Prices are reasonable and the only discount given is for cash or check. Ken

Very nice park with full hook-ups including 2 phone jacks per site. Some of the sites are pretty small and do not allow easy deployment of awnings or slide-outs. The resort has one of the very best Lake Tahoe beaches to be found anywhere. The park can accomodate just about any lenght of RV with plenty of pull-through sites. The park is open year around and is very busy during the summer months with reservations nearly always required during the weekends.
