Question Four

Anyone on an ecletic spiritual path gains a lot of knowledge from books.  What are some of the books you've read that stick out in your memory that you would recommend someone add to their "must read" list?

Lambentlion:   A very excellent question. Putting this list together was like taking a stroll back over  previous and very pleasant parts of my journey.

1. "Stranger in a Strange Land"  Robt. Heinlein

2. "The Prophet"  kahlil Gibran

3. " Jonathon Livingston Seagull"  Richard Bach

4. "Spectrum of Love"  Walter Rinder (This is a poem, not a book but had a profound effect upon my journey)

5. "Now"  Eckhart Tolle

6. "Conversation with God" Neale D. Walsch

Koshari:  Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard Bach

The Oversoul Seven Trilogy, Jane Roberts

Flight of the Seventh Moon, Lynn Andrews

The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz

Letter to Earth, Elia Wise

Baba108:  Talks with Ramana Maharshi

I AM THAT  Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Gospel of Ramakrishna

Merging with Siva

Bhagavad Gita - in Sanskrit ( which is a trip to learn )

Spiritual Science of Kriya Yoga by Goswami Kriyananda

(my teacher)

anything by Swami Satyananda Saraswati

anything by Swami Sivananda

anything regarding Ramana Maharshi - HWL Poonja ( Papaji ) -

Nisargadatta - Ramesh Balsekar - Adi Shankara - Kabir -

Ramprasad - Rumi - Lao Tzu - and on and on

Duffyzolo: Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight

Dreamerscloud: "Illusions"  by Richard Bach

"Don Juan". by Carlos Castinada

"Woman who Run with the Wolves" by  Clarissa Pinkola Estes

"Take Time for your self" by Cheryl Richardson

These are all books that I have learned something from that has changed my life and given me insight to who I am and how to find it. I have to say though that "Illusions"  and "Woman who run with wovles" are  my two  favorite books  out of all of them

Strider: Women who run with wolves is excellent.

Manly P Hall books, Dion Fortune books, in particular Secrets of Dr Taverner. Israel Regardie is an excellent author. Robert Johnson is a Jungarian authority and has written books titled He:the psychology of the male, She: the psychology of the female...all good reads, imho.
