| Organize your Desktop and other files for a more efficient and enjoyable computing experience. | Creating folders within Windows is one of the easiest functions you will perform. Folders can be placed on any drive and within folders themselves.
Let's begin by putting a folder on your Desktop. Right click any empty space on your Desktop and follow the path below.

When the new folder appears as above, backspace or use the Delete key to remove New Folder in the title bar and type in the new name of your folder.

Open your newly created folder, as shown below.

You can drag files and other folders to your new folder or you can use the cut and paste method. Cut and Paste is used by right clicking the file or folder>Cut>open the folder you wish to paste to>right click within that folder>Paste.

You can also create a folder within a folder by right clicking inside the folder and using our initial method. You can make folders exciting by adding backgrounds. The path below will open up the Customizing Wizard.

Customizing Wizard. Have fun experimenting with making your personal folders indeed personal.

Since pages with many graphics will be slow loading for dial up users, it is recommended that you print it out for future reference.
