Making a ScreenShot

I want to make a screen shot of what I see on my monitor.

1. Press 'Print Screen' key. (to the right of the F12 key)

(If you have more than one window open and just want a shot of the active window and not the whole screen, press the Alt when you hit printscreen.)

2.Go to: start>programs>accessories>paint. Click paint open.

3. Go to the toolbar and click on 'Edit'. Select 'Paste'. You  will  get a message that says 'The image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap.Would you like the bitmap enlarged?'  Choose 'Yes'.

4. Go to  'File' on the toolbar and choose 'save as...'

5.Choose where you  want to save the file. Use the 'save in' drop-down menu  to  direct where you  are putting this file.

6.. Select a format, .jpeg if you have that option. (I dont, so I save it as a bitmap then use a small image editor program I  have to  change the format from .bmp to .jpeg)

Type in a File name you  will recognize.

7.Click 'Save'.

I choose to further edit the pictures by cropping the background out (and sometimes re-sizing) making the picture as small as I can while retaining visual quality.

You now have a picture matching what you  saw on your monitor.
