When you join a new group, MSN has a habit of making the default e-mail setting one that sends every message posted to your inbox. This group receives many messages per day, and that setting can literally flood your inbox. The bad part is that many people who join a group are rather new, and don't know how to stop this flood of e-mail messages. The good part is that this setting can easily be changed to stop the flood of messages.
What you need to do is go to the settings and change it from "inbox" to "on the web". This means you will no longer receive the messages posted in your inbox, but rather you will actually come to the group and view the postings on the message boards. Here is how to change the setting:
1) Come into the group, and on the left side menu, look at the bottom and click on "members tools".
2) Once that window has opened, click on "check your e-mail settings"
3) When that window has opened, click on "on the web"
4) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "save settings"
Sometimes this can take a couple of days to take effect. If you don't stop receiving messages posted to your inbox within a few days, go back and make sure the settings are still set to "on the web".
We also ask that you not reply to messages from your e-mail account. It adds a lot of extra text and whatnot to the post, and is also not reliable as to which thread it may go to. Replying to the message boards may result in your post not being seen and not being replied to.
We hope this helps make your membership in this group a more enjoyable experience.
