| NoAds Pop-Up Blocker Windows versions supported: Windows 95, 98, 98SE, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP Tired of those annoying Pop-Up ads everytime you surf? Would you like to put and end to them and control them? Then you should try this pop-up blocker. It is a small download (173KB), runs very passively on your system, doesn't use a lot of system resources (about 1% ) and does it's job nicely and efficiently. I have heard that some of these Ad-blockers can cause problems accessing certain sites, but I have had no problems at all while using this one. You are in control of what pop-ups get blocked. It will start you off with a list of well known pop-up ads that it will block automatically. Whenever you run across one you don't want, just click on the icon by your clock, find the popup in the "currently open windows" list, click the name to hilite it, then click on "add to targets". From then on, anytime that pop-up tries to appear, you will hear a little "ding" and it will have been swatted down like a fly by NoAds. It takes a bit of surfing to develop your customized list, but it is well worth it to end the annoyances, and the list can be edited anytime you desire. I have been using this program for about a year now, and am now virtually "Pop-Up ads free" when I surf. Also.....the price is right....yes, it is free!! If you are interested in trying this program, here is the link where you can read a bit more about it, and/or download it. click here for the NoAds site ___________________________________________________________________________ "Popup Manager" Works with: IE 5 & 6 on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP ____________________________________________________________________________ I am now using a different popup blocker program* that also works well, and is also free. It works a bit more "automatically" because you don't have to add popups to a list as with NoAds. Easy to understand and very effective, you can read a bit about it and/or download it by clicking on the following link. click here for the "Popup Manager" site * I would like to credit CSC member "Pegger" for making me aware of this program. It seems he discovered it while reading the "Langa List Newsletter". I wish to thank both Pegger and Fred Langa. ____________________________________________________________________________ I hope this helps make your surfing a more enjoyable experience. Woody |
