More and more holidaymakers are looking for accommodation outside from the Tourist areas. Where there are no long boulevards with hotels, where there are no noices from traffic, discoos or other guest in the night. Today you'll find around the island private houses for rent with all comforts from your home and yes....... maybe even more. Houses are available with spacious bedrooms, nice furniture, a fully equiped kitchen, a bathroom with washing machine, a TV with satelite connection, a Radio with Music system, Air Condition and Heathing system, a garden with your private swimming pool and most of all you'll find your peaceful holiday here.

Of course you'll pay a little more than in a simple Hotel for these houses, but maybe you should make a calculation first to see what is the difference with a beach-hotel. Many of the private accommodations offer more bedrooms, living room etc.  I know places suitable for 10 persons and if you travel with a group or with 2 or 3 families than it might be not so expensive as it looks. Most of the private houses I know are not to far from the beach, so if you wish to be there than the sea is ussually nearby .

The last years many Crete-fans are looking for a home to live in for a longer period. They are retired or they can make long holidays. There are even people that combine their holidays with friends and adult children. They rent the accommodation for the whole summer or for the whole year and share days and the cost.

In the past I have met foreigners here that did all the arangements, like the deal, the paperwork, the planning and the building by themselves. Here you can leave all your paperwork, your ideas about your home and the building of it in their hands and mind, which saves you a lot of headaches. Besides that they speak Greek, which will be probably not your talent.
