DEISM

(Belief in God without the baggage)

Welcome to Deism, this is natural, as opposed to a revealed religion. This group is open to Deists and those interested in Deism; as well as those recovering from years of mental abuse by revealed religion.

For those who believe in God, but not in organized religion, with its emphasis on ritual, contradictory holy books, clerics, dogma, heresy, and evil. If you have too much respect in God to believe in the unholy stories of the Torah, Bible, and Qur'an which portray God as a vindictive monster punishing indiscriminately whole societies for the shortcomings of a few individuals; then you might as well admit that you are not a good revealed religionists: Jewish, Christian, or Muslim. Those revealed religions portray a god with a serious mental problem, something devoid of Reason [Logos] or capable of acting Reasonably.

Deism is not merely a state of mind, it is a lifestyle dedicated to respect for human dignity. Deist contributions to human dignity include the concepts found in the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. These concepts include: self-evident truths derived from the use of Reason, freedom of thought, opinion. expression, religion, and belief. To the Deist, the unfettered use of Reason is an act of worship to the divine Logos.

People do not convert to Deism, they eventually become Deist if they have open minds and freely use their Reason. The Reasonable lifestyle is the mark of the Deist. You may be a Deist and not know it; is it not time you found out?

Reason is the Logos in action. If you are Reasonable, then you are also part of the universal Logos. It is time you join your own.

Welcome.
