“Abortion: Is it Possible to be both “Pro-life” and “Pro-Choice”?”

or

“The Question of Abortion: A Search for Answers”

by Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan

For the complete text, including illustrations, introductory quote, footnotes, and commentary on the reaction to the originally published article see Billions and Billions.

The reason for posting this essay, or more accurately this condensed version, is that Sagan was a moderate who believed that education was the key to a more just society. This essay on abortion is an excellent example of his rational and calm approach to an issue most people on either side are calm about discussing.
