My name is Joe Bourland. I live in and was born in the great state of Texas. A West Texan though and though.

I started designing dolls in March of 2001. Getting into designing was purely an accident. It was all my sister's idea. She loved the idea of doing ooak dolls. I had not even looked at a Barbie in over 30 years. Against my better judgment, a used Barbie, and a few scraps of material (from a near by Wal-mart), I started my first attempt at "dressing a Barbie". What a nightmare that design was. Several months and scraped designs later I'm having the time of my life. I never had this much fun playing with Barbies when I was a little girl when Barbie first came out.

I have no degrees or formal training in design work. My dreams are my institutions of learning for my doll designs. I never imagined myself designing dolls, now it's an every day love affair.
