Had a wonderful night at Lizottes last night (Saturday). First off, thanks so much Linda for securing us the front table. Sitting right against the stage between Daryl and Geoff was a privilege. It's the tiniest stage so Daryl doesn't have a lot of opportunity to open up the freeform dancing he loves nor do any slides across the stage. Alas..... I still worry a little about that man when there's swinging of a steel mic stand going on. His voice was superb as usual. The Braithwaite dry sense of humour was much in evidence whether it was stirring other band members, talking about James Reyne or about some of the musicians coming up at Lizottes, or posing for photos that "didn't show his triple chin". Gotta say the highlight for me was "Wishing Well". Geoff's guitar on that just lifts it to a higher plane. Better confess now that on "Horses", when it came to the audience participation Daryl offered me the mic first. I demurred. I had to! The night would not have been lifted in any way by exposing my vocal talentlessness. Set list was: 1. As the days go by 2. I don't remember 3. Poor boys dance 4. On Love's Ocean 5. Let me be 6. Slave 7. Start all over again 8. SMTAM 9. You've got the gun 10. Wishing Well 11. All I do 12. Solsbury Hill 13. Rise 14. Howzat 15. Higher than Hope 16. One Summer The encore was Isn't it Time and Horses. It's so sad when it's over. It's like leaving friends.

Great gig, with only 250 odd tickets available it was very intimate. Daryl and band were really laid back and enjoying themselves. It was fun. Daryl did a great cover of the Babys, Isn't it Time. Haven't heard that one before.

WELL THERE IS ONLY ONE WORD TO DESCIBE DARYL LAST NIGHT AT DINGLEY-BRILLIANT. IT WAS CLEARLY THE BEST SHOW I HAVE SEEN DARYL DO IN AGES. DARYL AND HIS 4 PIECE BAND PLAYED THE USUAL GIG LIST BUT REALLY TURNED IN ON. THE ADDITION OF KEYBOARDS GAVE THE SOUND THAT LITTLE EXTRA MISSING IN PREVIOUS SHOWS. CANNOT WAIT TILL THE NEXT ONE.

From Poppy - Last night's show (St John's Park, 9th December) was reasonably good. It was great to see the band "standing" the way a true "band" should be it gives a much better vibe. Now if Clubs would do away with seated shows for these types of artists we could all get back to the true Pub Style gig the way Rock n Roll "should be" Set list was:- All I Do Sugar Train On Loves Ocean Slave Beautiful View (song from David's CD) Poor Boys Let Me Be Something More Than A Miracle Start All Over You've Got The Gun As The Days Go By Rise Howzat Higher Than Hope One Summer Isn't It Time Love The One You're With The Horses No encores and no opportunity for one house music and lights up straight after completion of the set. Still 18 songs in total is good value Nice to see a couple of changes to the set list, but nothing major. The band were loud as good rock and roll should be, but there was terrible feedback/reverb throughout the auditorium which spoilt the quality of the show.

WELL AFTER THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF DARYLS SHOW DOWN AT THE DEAKIN CAFE EARLIER THIS YEAR, DARYL WAS NOTHING SHORT OF BRILLIANT LAST NIGHT. THE BAND WAS AS TIGHT AS I HAVE EVER SEEN THEM AND THE CROWD LAPPED UP EVERYTHING DARYL HAD TO OFFER.THE SET WAS NOTHING THAT WE HADN'T HEARD BEFORE BUT D.B AND BAND DELIVERED IT AS IF THEY HAD SOMETHING TO SAY. IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO CATCH DARYL AT THIS VENUE, THEN I URGE YOU TO DO SO WHEN HE NEXT PLAYS THERE. WE HAVE SEEN HIM THERE ON HALF A DOZEN OCCASSIONS AND NEVER HAS HE FAILED TO DELIVER. SEE YOU THERE NEXT TIME. OH SANDRA. NICE TEE SHIRT!

1 I saw Daryl live at the Coogee-Randwick RSL Club on friday 2nd September. Daryl's concert was brilliant!! I even managed to get right down near the stage towards the end which was fantastic. Daryl always sings so well. It was so nice of Daryl to sign autographs after the show. Daryl signed the back of my blue Snapshot Tshirt. I was the one wearing the black THE HORSES sweatshirt. Thanks for a great night out Daryl and band!! I can't wait till the Blacktown concert on 8th October. By a 26 year old DARYL fanatic, EMMA.

Wow emma i wish i saw you there.
I might have danced with you there wasnt too many young people there but still i have loved Braithwaite since i heard him sing on a piano in the mid 90's at darling harbour. it was a time when he didnt have much money and he made me smile cry and laugh at the same time. SO very happy to dance to a 10 min version of Horses and many of his new songs.
Great performance by all his band. would of loved to see him get off the stool he sat on almost the whole time but other then that great work!!!!
