A wonderfully well kept kite surfing secret. Torcross, Slapton Beesands are the opposite side of the "start point" peninsular of the South Hams. East facing, these beaches provide an ideal kiting for all easterly wind directions from North to South.
But beware of directly onshore winds, the surf has a real bite to it, the beach shelves off quite sharply. So you may not be able to clear the beach.
Beesands, closer to the start seems to be slightly calmer than slapton sands thanks to the "start" in more south easterly winds but this is debatable - what isn't in debate is the great pub on the seawall called the cricketers....lovely.
