Sizing Your Photo

Here are two ways to size your photo for posting.

1.  Save for Web (easiest)

2.  Saving manually in Image Size (If you don't like the results, try this)

To Save for Web follow these steps.

Open Image Size.  As you can see original image is 31mb, way too large.

600 Pixels on longest side

Clk. OK, Pic looks like this

Details of Save for Web Dialog Box

Save for Web upper left

Save for Web upper right

Note Image size , Clk. OK and choose your folder

Back in PS, Clk. No to preserve original size

Method # 2

Simply Return to Image Size and first change Resolution to 72 then change the longest side to 600 pixels.

Clk. OK and Save As JPG in your chosen folder and post from that folder

Control the image size in the JPG options Quality box.

The second method may be appropriate if the original was in Tiff. or Psd. and the result of the first method is too saturated or too little saturated.  Sometimes it is also necessary to sharpen a bit more before posting using the first method.  Try both and choose the one you like the best.  Save for Web shortcut - Ctrl+Shift+Alt > S
