S. Stewart Gordon, Ph.D.
Stanley Stewart Gordon was born Sept. 14, 1912 at St. Louis, MO. He earned his B.A. degree at Westminster College in 1933. He received his Master's and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Chicago, where he then worked as Instructor and Assistant Professor, Department of English. He also served as Assistant to the Dean of Humanities. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he spent most of his time stationed in China. He married Barbara Baker on Sept. 9, 1939 at Dwight, IL. She was born July 11, 1915 at Dwight. Gordon went on to serve as the first dean of Harpur College in Binghamton, NY from 1955 to 1967. He also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs, Executive Vice President and Acting President, retiring in 1974. An extraordinary administrator, Gordon helped shape Harpur into a prestigious public liberal arts college and, later, Binghamton University. The S. Stewart Gordon Memorial Wing, once the site of Gordon's offices, honors the memory of his vision and dedication. He died Jan. 10, 2000 at Johnson City, NY.

Donald (Don) Dunlop Gordon was born Jan. 23, 1949 at Chicago. He earned his B.A. in philosophy at the University of New Hampshire in 1974. He is Business Manager of University of New Hampshire Dining Services at Durham. He married Ann Elizabeth MacKinnon, daughter of Daniel Finley MacKinnon VII and Josephine Lowell MacKinnon, on May 23, 1983 at Barrington, NH. She earned her B.S. degree in plant science at the University of New Hampshire in 1976 and is employed by the U.S. Postal Service. She is active in Democratic Party politics. They have two daughters:
