FOOD THERAPY
What is Food Therapy?
Food Therapy is the use of different types of food at different times in the day, to detoxify the body and promote heathier living. Four out of the 10 leading causes of death in North America are linked in some way to the way we eat.

Up until the turn of the century, Food Therapy was widely used as a way of treating the sick and staying healthy. As lifestyles changed, so did the way people eat. Most people have a tendancy to be too busy to eat as properly as they should. Fast food and other quckly prepared foods full of fat or sugar seem to have phased out a proper meal.

There has however, been a renewed interest in eating healthy and maintaining a proper diet of essencial vitamines and minerals with a reduced fat intake. However, many of the foods we choose that are pre-packaged, may be healthy but loose much of their natural nutrition in the processing. Thus natural foods are always best when they can be incorperated into a hectic day.

Ideally, fat should comprise about 25% of total calorie consumption. However in is not always easy to tell the difference between good fat and bad. And yes, there is such a thing as good fat, it is used to build new cells, nerves and aid in healing certain health problems
