Meditation To Find
Your Spirit Guide
By: Pine Siskin
Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for 20 minutes or so. Burn your favourite incense and light a candle of your choice as well if you wish. Play some soothing music very quietly.
Relax. Let your body melt into the floor. Feel all of the tension melt away from your body. Breath deeply. Inhale through your nose and out through your mouth.
With every breath, feel yourself slip into a more relaxed state. Try to slow your breathing. Think of yourself as being on an elevator and it is slowly going down floor by floor.
When you have done this for several minutes, picture within your mind's eye a beautiful green meadow on a warm and sunny summer day. You are standing there within this field smiling and relaxed. You look into the distance and see a small stand of trees. Something is compelling you to journey there, and you begin to walk toward the grove.
When you reach the grove, you notice a rustic gate. The gate is slightly open and you push it open the rest of the way. It creeks but opens very easily. You take a moment to look around you and notice all kinds of wildflowers within the forest grove. There are birds joyfully fluttering within the tree tops. The sounds and the smells are sweet and calming and the warmth of the sun can be felt upon your face.
You then notice a path ahead of you and begin to follow it. It winds along through the trees along a small brooke. There is moss everywhere upon the forest floor and you are certain that there are fae folk about.
You notice in the distance a camp. There is a shelter, a campfire, and a figure sitting there playing the most beautiful flute music that you have ever heard. You approach and the figure becomes more visable.
This is your spirit guide. Take a few moments to see what he or she looks like. Let this just happen and do not force thoughts.
Your spirit guide then invites you to sit down at the campfire with him or her. You may take this time now to get to know your guide. Ask him or her any questions that you may have. Again, let your thoughts just come to you and do not force them.
When you feel that you have stayed long enough, stand up and tell your guide that you must leave. He or she will tell you that you may come back whenever you choose. Your spirit guide will give you a gift at this moment. This token will mean something to you. Take it and thank your guide.
Leave the same way that you came knowing that you are loved and that you may come back for guidance and for comfort anytime.
When you reach the meadow, start to come out of your deep, relaxed state. Just as you thought of an elevator going down into relaxation, envision an elevator taking you back up into an awakend state.
When you are fully aware of your suroundings again, lay there for a couple of minutes. This will help you to adjust. Then you may give a stretch and you will probably give a sigh of relaxation and contentment.
Rise and feel at peace that you have now met your spirit guide.
