| Open 24 hours: MarEmm's Zoo special attractions: African jungle, desert and savannah animals work in progress! meanwhile: have some fun with this page Oh, boy ...girl ... I think there is an animal escaped. Do you know which one? And where does it belong?
NEW: the first animals are arriving now, let's look at one of them it's the Hippo, full name Hippopotamus do you know a nice name for her? You can send your suggestions to the director of the Zoo! In Dutch we call this animal a "Nijlpaard" which literally means "Horse of the Nile", the river in Egypt, a country in the North of Africa. Hippo is Latin for ''horse'' and in the word "Potamus'' you can recognize the word ''potamic'' which has to do with rivers! Wow, what's that noise? It's probably the elephants that are arriving. Do you know the difference between the African and the Asian elephant? This elephant is helping to paint the stables. Here's a picture of the African elephant. My favourite animals from Africa are the zebra and the giraf, so they are the next to enter this Zoo: Did you know every zebra has it's own 'bar code': a unique striped pattern? And how long is the neck of a giraffe? Do you know how much his tongue weighs? Send in your answers, comments and questions to MarEmm the Zoo-keeper or post them on the messageboards! Which animal would come next? </CENTER<> Send a Spirit Flower! The Zookeeper ! |
