Dealing with stress and anger continued...

I'm just chillin' man!

  • If you feel really angry, a good way to get it out of your system is to write it all down! If someone has really upset you I can help to write it a letter to them explaining how angry you are, how they have upset you, and anything you want. Probably best not to send it unless you are really cross!!
  • Another way to get those feelings out is to write it down in a diary. You can write whatever you like, express all your feelings, without worrying, because no one has to see!
  • Try taking a big deep breath, and counting '1', then let it out as u count '2'. Take another breath on the count of 3, and so on untill you reach 10. This should make you feel a bit better straight away.
  • Think of a place you find really beautiful and relaxing, such as an empty beach, quiet forest, mountain top, or anywhere that works for you. Shut your eyes and imagin you are in that place. You wont be able to feel very angry in this lovely place!
  • Try 'Bach's Rescure Remedy'. This natural herbal ointment, which you drop onto the back of your tongue, or drink it mixed with water, and makes you feel a lot calmer. You can buy it from a health food/ herbal remedy shop, like Holland and Barrat.
  • Think about whatever you are angry about, and imagine how you will feel about it in say, a day, wekk, or even month. Chances are you wont care anymore, which really puts it into perspective. Infact, you might just end up laughing at the silliness of it all!!!
  • Find something creative that you are good at or enjoy...there's bound to be something! You could try writing a poem, painting a picture, playing a musical insrument, or anything you like! This is very calming and you could produce something amazing!
  • If you have a pet, stroke it or play with it. It wil make you feel better, and your pet will love you for it too!
  • Is there anyone close to you who you can talk to, who isn't involved in the argument? Try talking it through with them, and get it all off your chest. Also, they might be able to give you some good advice of how to resolve the situation.
  • If you have access to a punch bag give it a good beating! really lets that anger out!!!
