J. Michael Straczynski isn't the only high profile TV creator to pen his own comic series -- Joss Whedon, of Buffy and Angel fame, has just signed up with Dark Horse Comics.
"We've been working with Joss [on Dark Horse's Buffy line of comics], so it naturally evolved, as Joss is a comic fan and always wanted to write a comic," a spokesperson for Dark Horse told Sci Fi Wire. "It evolved more out of his desire to write comics, since it's a medium he grew up loving."
Whedon's creation will most likely be called Fray -- it's planned as an eight issue series about a vampire slayer who operates in the year 2500, a long time from now. It will be set in the Buffy universe, though.
Whedon joins Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski in the comic field. Straczynski currently pens the critically acclaimed Rising Stars for Image Comics and has plans for additional series. Hey, maybe Chris Carter can get in on the action too, and revive Harsh Realm and Millennium in comic book form.
