Fibrohugs - Fibrohugs is the best online support site there is. You will be amazed at the loveandfriendship you will find there. This URL is for the Introductory forum..you can "lurk" for a few days if you would like, to see what it is like. But please don;t be afraid to jump in and get to know everyone, and let them get to know you. There are numerous other forums..a medical one for medical type questions (tho you can ask them on the intro. forum also) a craft forum, a lupus, one for young adults, one for caregivers, the list goes on and on. There is also a chat room open 24/7 that is VERY well monitored so you can feel safe in there. Check it out, you will not be sorry. Sara

Men with Fibro -

A new site, devoted to the simple topic of "men with fibromyalgia", hence the name.  It is hoped this site will become sort of a "home away from home" where men with fibro can come, chat, talk, learn, and fellowship one with another.  It is for men with fibro.  Women are welcome, but overwhelmingly, there are many sites devoted to women with fibro, and it is time for the male community to have a site devoted to the topic of men with fibro. Please understand, this is not a male only site, but a site devoted to the topic of men with fibromyalgia.  So if you have a loved one with fibro, this may be the right place to learn what makes him tick.

Devin Starlanyl's Website -
Devin Starlanyl has written some excellent books on Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome. This is her site.
Information about Medications -
Medications are available to treat your various fibromyalgia symptoms. Do not believe any doctor who tells you there's nothing to be done to treat FMS. (Run, don't walk, to another doctor!) Because all fibro folk do not respond to meds the same way, often it will take several tries to find what works for YOU, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Here's a site with the tried-and-true meds to use as a jumping off place.
Obtaining Social Security Benefits -
Applying for Disability Benefits may not be what you WANT to do, especially if you are newly diagnosed. Be advised that you need to have worked 5 of the last 10 years to apply for Social Security Disability benefits - don't let this time period slip away while you wait to get better. Here's an excellent article to get you started when you are ready to file.
