INSPIRATIONAL STORIES

If we are having down-days, wondering if our Fight will work, take a look at these stories. They are all stories of parents who really are Figthing for their children.

We are doing the same.

My Hero

My hero isn't a movie star, super star or TV star.

My hero isn't even written down in history.

My hero has more faith than anyone I know.

My hero has a heart ten times bigger than most.

My hero doesn't complain about things he can't do.

My hero doesn't walk from place to place he rolls from place to
place.

My hero never has to look for a place to sit. You see he uses a
wheelchair everyday.

My hero will never be a football or other sports pro.

My hero has a disease for which there is no cure. He has Duchenne
Muscular Dystrophy.

My hero is only 14 years old.

My hero is my son.

 Hello all

Joanne sent me this story. This is a great story for inspiration.
As parents we have to FIGHT, FIGHT AND FIGHT. Who is going to, if not us ????

This is a testament to the power of faith, family love, tireless fundraising, and a breakthrough medical treatment that ultimately could save hundreds, even thousands, of young lives.

Enjoy the reading - and thanks Joanne for sharing with us.

Hi all

Joanne, thank you very much for sharing this story with us

This is a story about a mom's Fight. Like the story about Lorenzo's father, this proves once again that we have to Fight, Fight and Fight. We will never give up before we have a treatment to stop/slow progression of DMD/BMD.
Its also good to see that this parents refer to the movie about Lorenzo's oil. If you haven't seen this movie, I hope you will. Its a good movie, and you will see what I mean after you have watch this film. You will be very inspired of this film, and the parents ongoing Fight.

This sentense must have been be taken from our site:-)

"Hudson says, “I was assuming, ‘Ok, I can’t cure it. But isn’t there something that can be done to slow the deterioration?’”

We cannot assume that the science world have thought of everything that could possible help our children:

Lorenzo's Oil: The Movie

The film is based on the true story of Augusto and Michaela Odone and their son Lorenzo. In 1984 Lorenzo came down with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a rare inherited disease. Doctors said that he would lose all his functions and die within two to three years. Refusing to accept this grim verdict, the Odones set out on a mission to find a treatment for ALD and to save their child (Lorenzo survived, and is now 25 years old).
