Spotted Danio (Brachydanio nigrofaciatus) Family: Cyprinidae. Sub Family: Rasborinae. Origin: Burma. Max Size: 2 inches. Temperament: Peaceful and less lively than others in this group. Sociability: Tends to stay with a mate rather than shoaling. Environment: Rivers and streams, pH 6.5 to 7, DH 5 to 12. Climate: Tropical, needs lots of warmth 75f to 82f. Diet: Omnivore but with a preference for live food. Will accept all aquarium food. Breeding: Easy, spawn just as a pair with the same fish that stay together in the main tank. Sexual Characteristics: Female is larger and plumper, the males anal fin has a brown edge. Availability: Not that common.
