Family:  Acanthuridae.

 

Origin: Pacific Ocean.

 

Max Size: Up to 6 inches in the aquarium.

 

Temperament: Very Territorial.

 

Sociability: If space allows you can keep a shoal of at least 6 individuals. If not only one per tank.

 

Environment:  pH 8.1 to 8.4, SG 1.021 to 1.024, Well managed clean water is essential.

 

Climate: Tropical, 77f to 79f.

 

Diet: Herbivore, although they will eat most food on offer the diet should include lots of vegetable matter. And the fish should be fed little and often.

 

Breeding: Not yet achieved in the aquarium.

 

Sexual Characteristics: Not known.

 

Availability: Common.

 

Further Information: Can be prone to white spot and velvet.
