Episode 11 (part 2)
Shan Cai finally wakes up. She and Lei will be sharing a room while Xiao Zi and Ah Si will share another room. She wants to change rooms and decides to tell Xiao Zi. But Lei stops her, saying that she might disturb them, in case they are passionately making love. Shan Cai is upset at the thought. Lei offers to help her stop them from doing whatever they are doing. Shan Cai pretends to laugh it off. He comments that she has been looking like she is on the verge of crying since she reached the chalet. Lei tells Shan Cai that he had decided to come (to the chalet) because everyone has to face up to reality sooner or later, so there’s no point in avoiding what is to come.
(Ah Si and Xiao Zi’s room)
Xiao Zi hugs Ah Si and tells him that she will be staying at his mansion from next semester onwards so as to learn how to be a good wife. She also makes it known that she will not object if Ah Si decides that he wants to get married before they graduate. Ah Si pushes her away. He asks if she is satisfied with the current arrangement made by her parents. He knows that he is in no position to blame her for anything since everything has already been settled for her. She asks if this mean that he wants to choose the person he likes. She had thought that he had already chosen her. Ah Si does not answer and she does not force him. Instead, she makes Ah Si look at her and takes off her robe.
(Lei and Shan Cai’s room)
Lei and Shan Cai are lying down on the mattress. Shan Cai knows that she cannot deny her feelings for Ah Si anymore but also knows that she cannot barge into Ah Si and Xiao Zi’s room. Desperately needing a source of comfort and security, Shan Cai asks Lei if she could hold his hand. Lei holds her hand.
Shan Cai feels as if someone had stabbed her heart once more. However, with Lei by her side, she does not feel that lonely. She thank Lei for being there to save her at the hot spring. The two of them start talking about Xiao Zi. Lei tells Shan Cai that Xiao Zi is really one of a kind. Shan Cai thinks that Xiao Zi is actually rather adorable. Although Xiao Zi often complicates matters with her antics, she is really a rather stubborn but mature girl, such that nobody can bring themselves to hate her. Actually, to Shan Cai, Xiao Zi is rather like Ah Si. However, Lei thinks nobody can be as stubborn as Ah Si. Shan Cai smiles and agree. Lei is happy that Shan Cai is finally smiling as she had been pulling a long face the whole day. Shan Cai playfully throws a pillow at Lei. He tells her to vent all her frustrations on him. They have a pillow fight. Shan Cai is happy to have Lei around her. She realize that he is always there for her when she is low. She knows that she does not love Lei anymore but he will always have a special place in her heart.
(Ah Si and Xiao Zi’s room)
Ah Si rejects Xiao Zi’s advances and gets her to put on her clothes. She is shocked that he could be so calm. Insulted, she put on her clothes. Ah Si tells Xiao Zi that he is sorry. He tried to make himself like her, but he cannot do it. He is unable to continue dating her. Xiao Zi throws things at him. Ah Si confesses to Xiao Zi that his mind is only filled with thoughts of Shan Cai. He wonders why she is with Lei, and keeps thinking about what Shan Cai and Lei are doing at that moment. He wonders if Shan Cai is still in love with Lei. Xiao Zi shuts him and pushes him onto the ground.
(Lei and Shan Cai’s room)
Shan Cai is worried when she hears the noises from Xiao Zi’s room. She decides to take a look.
(Ah Si and Xiao Zi’s room)
Xiao Zi tells Ah Si that Shan Cai had congratulated her at the hot spring and does not like him at all. Ah Si does not say anything. Xiao Zi pins him down under her and Ah Si does not resist. At this moment, Shan Cai barges in and catches them in the very misleading position. She thinks that she had barged in on them about to make love and excuses herself in embarrassment.
Ah Si tells Xiao Zi that she is free to do whatever she pleases, and can bash him up until her anger subsides. Xiao Zi is unable to bring herself to hit him.
(Lei and Shan Cai’s room)
Shan Cai rushes back to her room and hides herself under the blanket after telling Lei what she saw.
(Ah Si and Xiao Zi’s room)
Xiao Zi breaks down. Ah Si apologizes and hugs her.
The next morning, Shan Cai sits alone outside the chalet. She regrets barging in on Xiao Zi and Ah Si the night before. She does not want to see that sort of scenario at all and did not intend on spoiling their night. Ah Si suddenly appears and sits beside her. Shan Cai feels uneasy in his presence, in contrast to the comfortable night she spent with Lei. She knows that things have changed between Ah Si and her and she feels silly in his presence. Ah Si tells her that he is leaving the chalet early.
Shan Cai leaves together with Lei. Xiao Zi tells them to go off without her. When Shan Cai tells her that Ah Si had left early, Xiao Zi tries to act nonchalant. She breaks down when the couple leaves.
On their way out, Lei tells Shan Cai that she feels so uncomfortable about barging in on the couple because the person is Ah Si. If it had been someone else, she could just laugh it off. However, Shan Cai denies that she is uneasy because of Ah Si. Lei advises her to cry if she feels like it. She tries to laugh it off but ends up crying on Lei’s back.

Back at home, Shan Cai’s parents are leaving Taiwan and going to a fisherman’s village. They are really unable to stay on in Taiwan anymore because of the recession. Also, Shan Cai will have to stay in Taiwan alone because her parents do not want her to quit school.
At the cake shop, Qing He tells Xiao You that Shan Cai is going to be staying alone. He is worried that she will have to quit school eventually. Xiao You tells Qing He that he must take care of Shan Cai now that she is all alone in Taiwan. He tells her that he will shower all the love he can on Shan Cai. Xiao You is skeptical, and can only tell Qing He that he is a good man. Thinking that she likes him, Qing He tells Xiao You that his heart is with Shan Cai. Xiao You is disgusted.
Meanwhile, Xiao Zi tells her mother that she does not want to marry Ah Si anymore.
At night, Xiao Zi looks for Shan Cai at her house. Thinking that Xiao Zi is going to tell her the details of the passionate night with Ah Si, Shan Cai stops Xiao Zi before she could say anything. She tells Xiao Zi that she is now all alone and has to take care of everything herself. Thus, she has no time and energy to think about other things. And if Xiao Zi has anything to discuss with her, she may not have the time to give her comments anymore. Xiao Zi asks if she hates her. Shan Cai frantically tells her its not what she thinks. However, Xiao Zi confesses to Shan Cai that she had not been completely honest with her, perhaps because she is jealous of her (Shan Cai). She tells Shan Cai that nothing happened that night even though she had taken off her robes in front of Ah Si, hoping that something would happen. She had asked her mother to cancel the marriage between she and Ah Si. Shan Cai is shocked. Xiao Zi hopes that she can still be friends with Shan Cai despite all that has happened. Shan Cai is sorry that she said all the mean things to Xiao Zi and tells her that she is willing to be friends with Xiao Zi forever. Xiao Zi hugs her and advises her that if she treats her as a good friend, she should stop hiding her feelings.
Xiao Zi also reveals to Shan Cai that the reason why Ah Si rejected her was that he only has Shan Cai in his heart.
At the mansion, Ah Si tells his mother that he wants the marriage cancelled. He had told Xiao Zi that he will never like Xiao Zi and thus will never marry her. Feng insists that Ah Si apologizes to Xiao Zi. Ah Si tells her that he only loves Shan Cai and will not marry another girl. He does not understand why Feng must always use her children’s marriage to enhance the family’s status and wealth. Apparently, Ah Si’s sister, Zhuang, had gone through the same fate of being separated from the man she loves and made to marry a wealthy hotel tycoon. This is Zhuang’s greatest regret in life and Ah Si swears that he will not go through the same fate and be manipulated by Feng. However, Feng will not allow Ah Si to do as he wishes and the marriage is definitely set. Ah Si tells Feng that if the marriage goes as planned, Xiao Zi will regret for the rest of her life and he will suffer too. Feng, however, says that Ah Si will suffer IF he marries Shan Cai instead of Xiao Zi. With Xiao Zi’s family’s fortune and Dao Ming’s family fortune combined, Ah Si will be unbeatable when he takes over the Dao Ming business. Ah Si is disgusted that Feng only thinks of the business and wealth and not his happiness. If it were possible, he would rather not be her son, Dao Ming Si.
