Episode 12(part 1)
Mei Zuo, Xi Men and Lei visit Shan Cai at her house. They chat for a while before Shan Cai gets another visitor – Dao Ming Feng. She accuses Shan Cai of using unscrupulous methods to break up Ah Si and Xiao Zi. She tells Shan Cai that both of them had simultaneously decided to cancel the wedding. She asks Shan Cai when she will stop pestering Ah Si. Feng even insults Shan Cai’s parents, condemning them for teaching Shan Cai to use underhanded measures to obtain her goals. Lei jumps to Shan Cai’s defense, reproaching Feng for going too far with her words. Feng shuts him up. Mei Zuo also tries to help Shan Cai but to no avail. Knowing that Shan Cai’s parents had gone to live at the fisherman’s village, Feng mocks her for not taking the money that she had offered them earlier. She insults Shan Cai further by hinting that she is loose for bringing the F3 into her house.
Furious with what Feng has said, Shan Cai calls her “an old hag”. She tells Feng to buy Ah Si a dog leash if she wants to control him so much. Shan Cai is aware that in Feng’s eyes, she is nobody. However, she wants Feng to know that she (Shan Cai) condemns her (Feng) and is the worst person she (Shan Cai) ever knew in her life. In Feng’s eyes, she only sees herself and Ah Si and looks down on everyone else. Shan Cai declares that she does not welcome Feng at all and orders her to leave her house immediately. Furious that Shan Cai actually dared to speak to her in that way, Feng leaves the house.
Once Feng leaves, the F3 cheers for Shan Cai. Lei asks what her what she will do next since Feng is bound to go after her. The F3 decides that they must definitely come up with a plan and Mei Zuo advises Shan Cai not to avoid the inevitable anymore. She tells him that she does not plan on avoiding Feng at all. The F3 warns her that Feng is not to be trifled with and thus she had better be prepared. Lei asks Shan Cai to start going out with Ah Si. Xi Men thinks that Shan Cai and Ah Si could have a baby together to spite Feng, but Mei Zuo is sure that Feng will get rid of Shan Cai and the baby if that happens. Hearing all the plans that they are trying to come up with, Shan Cai realizes that she must have said something very wrong to Feng just now. However, there is no point in regretting it now. Lei tells her that as long as Ah Si likes her, she would have to go up against Feng whether or not she said anything to Feng. He promises her that they will support her no matter what.
Shan Cai thinks that she might actually prefer to have Lei with her instead of Ah Si. At least with Lei around, she feels secure and comforted. Yet even though she knows that Ah Si has been brought up in a rather different environment, with a very difficult mother, she still keeps getting entangled in Ah Si’s life.
After leaving Shan Cai’s house, Xi Men wonders if things would have been very different and much easier if Ah Si had accepted Xiao Zi. Mei Zuo understands that encouraging Shan Cai might not be the best thing to do. Although the future should lie in one’s own hands, but this principle cannot really be applied to the F4.
In the meantime, at the mansion, Feng orders her assistant to buy up Shan Cai’s house, including the whole row of houses near Shan Cai’s house.
In school the next day, Ah Si is happy when he hears that Shan Cai had gone against Feng. Mei Zuo warns him that Shan Cai is in a very dangerous position now that Feng knows where she lives. He is sure that Feng is bound to do something. Xi Men suggests that they could visit her often but Ah Si feels that he can protect her and visit her alone.
When Shan Cai returns home that night, she receives a letter from her parents. Apparently, they are not adapting well in the village. Her father has not gotten used to life as a fisherman and vomits when he is on the boat. Thus, they have no money to send to Shan Cai.
Subsequently, the landlord appears and tells Shan Cai that he had sold the house. Thus, Shan Cai has to move out by that night. Left with no choice, Shan Cai packs and leaves.
Meanwhile, Ah Si is devastated when he is unable to find Shan Cai at her house. He almost beats up the landlord.
Shan Cai’s hand phone is off when he tries to call her. He leaves many messages for her.
Shan Cai sits by the roadside and wonders what she is going to do next. She decides to call Qing He/Xiao You. When she switches on her hand phone, she hears all the messages Ah Si had left for her. As she is listening to the messages (in the messages, he keeps asking her to call him once she hears the messages and also tells her that he is extremely worried about her), Ah Si appears in front of her. He hugs her tightly. She breaks down and apologizes for not calling as she only just heard the messages. He is relieved that he finally found her. She wonders why he had managed to track her down to that place. Ah Si tells her that that was the place where he slapped her (episode 10) and had regretted his actions ever since. Thus, he could only think of looking for her there. Ah Si reprimands her lightly for always finding excuses to turn away from him, putting him at a loss as to what to do. He begs her not to hide away from him anymore and face the problems together.
Ah Si drags Shan Cai to his mansion, planning to settle things with his mother once and for all. On reaching the mansion, he is given the news that his mother had left for London to settle some business matters and would not be coming back for quite a while. Ah Si insists that Shan Cai stays in the mansion since she is homeless. However, Shan Cai does not think that that is appropriate especially after all the things that she said to Feng.
Just as they are arguing at the lobby, Yu Sao (acted by Tang Qi) comes along and reprimands them for making so much noise. Before Feng left for London, she made Yu Sao return to the mansion to keep an eye on Ah Si, and apparently gave Yu Sao information on Shan Cai. Yu Sao tells Ah Si that Shan Cai could stay in the mansion if he insists. However, Shan Cai must work as a servant while staying there. Ah Si does not allow that to happen. Shan Cai tells her that she has no intention of staying in the mansion. Yu Sao mocks at her for leaving at the thought of having to do work. Shan Cai argues that if she is to stay in the mansion, she will definitely work to exchange for food and lodging. Yu Sao taunts her further and asks if she could really do what she says. Ah Si insists that he will not let Shan Cai work as a servant. However, Shan Cai tells him that if Feng were to come back, she wants to be there together with Ah Si to settle things with Feng. She does not want Feng to think that she (Shan Cai) is living off Ah Si. Thus, working as a servant in the mansion will at least let her feel that she is able to face Feng without feeling ashamed of herself. When Ah Si still disagrees with this arrangement, Shan Cai threatens to leave. Left with no choice, Ah Si agrees reluctantly and storms off. Yu Sao makes Shan Cai change into the servant’s uniform.
Late that night, Yu Sao goes to have a chat with Ah Si in his room. Ah Si asks her why she had to treat Shan Cai in that way. Shan Cai is after all, Ah Si’s … … guest. Yu Sao reprimands Ah Si for not showing her respect now that he is all grown up. Ah Si is aware that Yu Sao had back problems and retired a year ago and wonders why she is back this time. Yu Sao tells him that as long as the Dao Ming family needs her, she will not retire and be back to see that things are done. Thus, Feng had re-employed her, insisting that Ah Si needs to be watched. Ah Si thinks that Yu Sao will thus be helping Feng to separate Ah Si and Shan Cai. However, Yu Sao declares that she has a mind of her own and will not be controlled by Feng. She also makes it known that she is aware that Ah Si likes Shan Cai. Ah Si asks if she has any plans for Shan Cai. Yu Sao then decides that Shan Cai will be Ah Si’s personal servant. He is happy with the arrangement.
The next morning, Yu Sao acts extremely mean to Shan Cai. She yells at Shan Cai to do many things and warns her to return home immediately after school to continue with the housework. She also orders Shan Cai to serve Ah Si from morning till night and makes her wake Ah Si up.
Shan Cai is surprised at the arrangement. She goes to wake Ah Si up. She calls him a couple of times but he does not respond. When she moves nearer to admire his face, he grabs her and gives her a hug. Embarrassed, she scolds him and runs off.
In school, Ah Si tells Mei Zuo and Xi Men the news that Shan Cai is his personal servant. They are happy for him. Mei Zuo had received a call from Dao Ming Zhuang (Ah Si’s sister) telling them to give Ah Si and Shan Cai all the support they can. She does not want to see anyone else in the Dao Ming family being controlled by the mother again (just like the way she was forced to marry someone she didn’t love). Xi Men and Mei Zuo advises Ah Si to do something now that Feng is not around. However, they know that he will not do anything and laugh at him. Not willing to be laughed at, he calls Shan Cai and tells her that he will go to her room at midnight.
At 2345hours that night, Shan Cai is waiting nervously in her room. She wonders what Ah Si wants to do at that hour. Just as she was about to escape to Xiao You’s house, she runs into Ah Si outside her room. He grabs her before she could say anything.
