| A woman shared with me that she and her husband were in the South ten years ago when they both they both came down with flu-like symptoms that lasted a whole week. (Even their son remembered it 10 years after the fact.) She said that they drank raw milk from a cow in the vicinity and that there were also news articles that people in the vicinity of the hog/duck farms were coming down with 'flu-like symptoms' | | I had about an hour visit with her today.
She said they had been drinking the milk for several months by that time. I said, "Then it wouldn't be the milk. You will know 15 minutes after a strong exposure to 2-butoxyethanol type chemicals, and that's what it sounds like your 'flu symptoms' would be from."
She had commented that there were news articles at that time about people in the vicinity of the hog/duck farms were getting 'flu-like' symptoms. She shared that she and her husband were so very, very sick and so very, very tired. If the doctor had checked the 'retic rate' it would have been very elevated at 2.5 days after exposure to this chemical.
And it wouldn't surprise me if the farms were using such chemicals to clean up their mess or smell. (Something like a big 'farm version' of Lysol Disinfectant Spray?) This MSDS discloses 5% is 2(2-butoxyethanol) Worst exposure is vapors in one's eyes
Over their life-time this couple has also had significant other exposures to the chemicals. She said long before that she had hypothyroidism & an operation on her thyroid. She has had her gall bladder removed. She worked in the cleaning business and used all kinds of strong cleaners. One time she used carpet cleaner and had a severe reaction (Remember the cat?) Right now her joints hurt so bad; she had headaches until she went through menopause. She wonders why she hasn't the energy she used to have ... always has been hard working, but no energy for that now. "Am I just getting older?" she wonders
Her husband, in addition to the acute exposure to something similar 10 years ago, also had worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup. At the end of the summer, 1989, he had such severe coughing spells that you would have thought he had emphazema. (Cough that won't quit is sometimes a sign of too much of some type of chemical). He had also been in the Korean war. This dear man had a skin mole that grew into a cancer. His face was eaten away like you'd expect to see on a leper. He collapsed while driving his car & died about 3 years ago. Thankfully his grandson who was in the car with him was OK.
I'd sure like to have a visit with anyone who knew what each of these soldiers were doing 15 minutes before their flu-like symptoms showed up.
And I'd like to have a visit with Hillary's staff or someone who knows what they were doing when her/their 'flu-like' symptoms showed up. 3-18-05 |
