When we enter the marketplace we immediately become immersed into a visual and auditory experience like no other. The aromas, sounds and colours that paint a culinary pastiche stimulate our senses and intoxicate us.  While we're met with a wide array of available fruits, vegetables, grains and other foodstuffs, very few of us actually consider the origins and history of the foods that grace our meals and tables. Every foodstuff, from the innocuous stringbean to the banana tells a story from its origins, to its domestication to its place in history.
