It's not much of a board without any members, but it'll grow. I promise!

Yesterday, the Oscar nominations were announced for the 2004 movie season.

We here at "For the Love of the Rings" would like to congratulate former LOTR actress, the one whom we all know as Galadriel on her Oscar nomination.  Cate Blanchett is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Katherine Hepburn in the film, The Aviator.  The competition includes Laura Linney for Kinsey, Virginia Madsen for Sideways, Sophie Okonedo for Hotel Rwanda, and Natalie Portman for Closer.  The USA Today claims that Blanchett is the favorite. Go Galadriel!

On a sadder note, however, former LOTR actress Liv Tyler was nominated for a Razzie award along with Ben Affleck for Worst Screen Couple in Jersey Girl.  Their competition includes Halle Berry & either Benjamin Bratt or Sharon Stone for Catwoman, George W. Bush & either Condoleeza Rice or his Pet Goat for Fahrenheit 9/11, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen for New York Minute, and The Wayans Brothers for White Chicks.  I'm sorry, Arwen. Better stick with Aragorn and not that career destroying Ben Affleck.

Hi! Now, it's time for site updates!

You know, this site has some great content, and I'm not going to let it die, dammit!  Anyway, Nycla and I are working to get this site a bran-new super layout on another host. It's going to be great!!!!

I've added a new contest! It's called "The Photoshop Contest!" and it just entails altering a LOTR screenshot in a funny manner.  This is NOT a blend challege. We're strictly going for humor, here. So have fun! Be creative! Participate!

Thanks, everyone! Hope to see you (and this site) soon in a better place! (Not on MSN groups. Or Angelfire. Or Geocities. Bleh.)

This place is getting very lonely...not surprising since school has riddled us all with craploads of work.  But I'm going to attempt an update.

As officially stated before, the ROTK EE DVD (The ultimate abbreviation. ROTKEEDVD.)  is officially out.  There are 50 extra minutes, making the official running time....a very long time.  But, the new and extended scenes are absolutely AWESOME.  I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I definitely recommend it.

Soooooo, what are our actors up to now?

Well, as some of you have realised, Dom has been appearing on the hit TV show, "Lost".  Even more exciting is the Lost episode centering on his character drew the largest audience-- 23 million viewers.  Congratulations, Meriadoc Brandybuck!

Elijah Wood's next project is Sin City. Watch for it in 2005!

Peter Jackson has King Kong's release to look forward to.  Peter Jackson, along with Philipa Boyens has annouced a new movie project, which I have currently forgotten.  If anyone has any details, e-mail me. I'll post it.

TBA 2005: On a clear day, with Billy Boyd. Hooray!!!

also TBA 2005: Sean Astin in Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School

Oh, and you don't have to look for Orlando Bloom. He's in everything. Every single movie to be released from now until 2048.  He's even in your closet right now.

Welp, that's it for now. I hope this was a worthy update.  See ya soon.

God, I'm horrible. No LOTR Updates today, I hope you are all going ga-ga over your ROTK EE.  Anywho, we have our first official Ask Middle Earth Letter, and I have a few more adoptions to get up.  Ah, I got the awards site hosted, I can't wait to get this one hosted too!
