WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED - 2002
Saturday 15 December 2002
Glasgow Mela, City Halls, Candlerigg, Glasgow
We were the "cultural diversity" act. We took the huge stage and blasted the hall (I've never played with a rig so big) with renditions of new songs like "Florence" and other standards, guitar thrashing, double bass humming, trumpet jubilant, voice soaring.... Pity we played during the official tea break and announcements for people to move their cars. We were great, the audience was sparse. We had a dressing room last decorated in the late sixties/early seventies. I am SO glad I get to drink as part of my non-religion because if I ever "needed" a drink it was after this! Spent the rest of the afternoon in a local bar (10 metres from the venue!) with Roy, drinking red wine, looking out of the window at Christmas mayhem and taking turns to run out to warn people not to park unless they wanted to be towed away by the council who were on an evil mission that day!
