Bargain Mania
Being a mother of 3 I'm always looking for great deals. I've come to learn that all year long there are bargains galore. Here's a month to month pattern of savings that I have found.
January
There are so many sales during this month. In December, stores have stocked their shelves for christmas. Sometimes they don't sell all of what they stock up on. So they have to get rid of it to stock up for valentines day. People are so busy paying for their credit card bills that they used during christmas, they forget about all the sales afterward. The best things to buy at this time is supplies for next christmas, toys, bikes, vases, frames, and those universal gifts that you give all year round (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).
Now is also the time for white sales. Time to buy those blankets, sheets, fabrics, etc.
February
After valentine's day is over there will be lots of sales on anything that resembles valentine's day. You can get great deals on next years valentine cards, candy for an anniversary (as long as it's soon, don't want the candy to have that 'old' taste), heart vases, balloons, etc. The stores are also trying to sell those winter items to make room for their sping line. Now's the time to stock up on those winter clothes, coats, sweaters, boots, gloves, leather wear/goods, luggage, dark colored purses, etc. Also all you women who like to dress sexy, that frilly, lacey underwear is ready for you after valentines day.
March
Now is a great time to purchase humidifiers, hair trimmers, hair dryers, curling irons, etc. Stores are usually focused on spring fashions, so other parts of the store has some great sales. Also that winter equipment is on sale. Ice skates, skis, etc.
April
During this time of the year is when the umbrellas and rain coats are on sale. Lots of times you can get those shoes that you like so much. Even those long trench coats are on sale. Ham and eggs are a great price right around Easter time. Also check for the early yard and gardening sales.
May
Housewares is a frugal's paradise during this month. Everyone is focused on those outside items. Get that blender that you need, pick up some new pots and pans, and even new dishes would be nice. Look for watches, silver, and picture frames at the end of the month.
June
Carpeting is so cheap during this time. Why not recarpet the house? There's also those very nice livingroom sets and entertainment centers that are on sale. Noone is staying inside that much since summer is here, so most of the furniture that are inside is on-sale. Also it's time for fathers day so why not take advantage of those fishing and camping gear sales or aftershave. Now is the time to get this storm windows.
July
Now that Prom is over and finally done with. Now that those beautiful may and june weddings are through. It's time to save so much on those formal clothes. I've seen suits on sale 2 for 1. Dresses are marked down so low. Dress shoes and gloves are also on sale. There are alot of food sales before and after the 4th.
August
Summer is gone and now it's time for the best clothing sales ever!! Those sandals and summer purses are now on sale. Bathing suits, bikinis, beach towels, sunglasses, and more. That patio sets are also on sale.
September
Swimming pools and sprinklers are a great bargain at this time. Lawn mowers (riding and push), air conditioners (window units and central), grills, etc.
October
Buy those items that the kids need. Shoes, bookbags, jackets, etc. Coats are the best things to purchase now. There's also those tools that dad would love to have for christmas that are on sale now. Don't forget to pick mom up that leather jacket that she's always wanted or sewing machine.
November
To get people in the christmas spirit stores start to stock up on christmas items and sell them for a great price. Get into to christmas spirit early. Stock the freezer with those cheap turkeys they have on sale just a few days before thanksgiving.
December
After christmas is the best time to shop for next christmas. Things are selling at rock-bottom prices. Anything christmasy. Even storage boxes with red and green lid. That would be a great buy to pack all these great savings in for next year!!
**Frugal idea for december is to start saving for christmas next year!!**
