Ian is also involved in the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Female Sale (December) and Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Bull Sale (April) in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan.
Thackeray Gelbvieh had an another successful show and sale season in 2004! The grand finale was winning the prestigious Sweetheart Classic for the 2nd year in a row! TIP No Nonsence 304N shown below, placed first in her class at the Canadian National Show in Edmonton at Farmfair International. She was Junior Champion Female and Reserve Champion Female in the Saskatoon Fall Fair (complete show results can be seen at this link in PDF format). No Nonsence also went on to be Reserve Champion Female at the Canadian Western Agribition Show in Regina, Saskatchewan. The following day No Nonsence, co-owned by TGF and Bar GR Gelbvieh, was selected by 38 Gelbvieh breeders as the Sweetheart Gelbvieh Classic Futurity winner. This event is sponsored by the Man-Sask Association. The gold JCGR Bar GT Dimension 7K daughter safe in calf to the exclusive AI sire, RHRT Independence L19, led off the CWA Gelbvieh Sale! She sold for a record breaking $10 500.00 to a progressive group of breeders who called themselves the Sweetheart Classic Syndicate.

| WDV Towaw Heather 111J (sired by SLC Freedom 178F) won the Mature Cow with 2004 Calf at side class at the Canadian National Show (Farmfair International in Edmonton). The pair placed second in their class at the Saskatoon Fall Fair. At the Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh Show Heather 111J and Paris 50P won the Female born 2001 or earlier with calf and later went on to become Reserve Senior Champion Female. A moderate framed female with an exceptional udder, Heather 111J weighed in at 1616 lbs. Her heifer calf, TIP Paris 50P, sired by VCR Meeko 10M weighed 885 lbs. with a WPDA of 3.28 lbs. | | WDV Towaw Heather 111J & TIP Paris 50P | | TIP Mr. Pascal 39P, TGF's 2004 National Gelbvieh Bull Futurity entry, also had a successful show season! He started off winning a very strong Bull calf class at the Canadian National Show which saw him place first over the eventual National Bull Futurity Champion. Pascal went on to win his Bull Calf class at the Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh Show where his show weight was 960 lbs. with a WPDA of 3.53 lbs.
Thackeray Gelbvieh Farms has purchased some top genetics throughout Canada and United States and has been involved in an aggressive embryo transfer program over the past year so 2005 should bring some pretty exciting genetics to Gelbvieh breeders in Canada! Bar GT Ms Icon 150J who was purchased from Jumping Cow Gelbvieh Ranch will have several progeny on the ground. Broken Diamond Ranch purchased the embryo lot (3 embryos) on offer from 150J X RHRT Independence L19 for $3000.00! Embryos from EGL C110 (the American donor cow co-owned by TGF, BAR GR and JCGR) and RHRT Independence L19 are implanted for the 2005 calving season.
Thackeray Gelbvieh Farms along with Hurlburt Livestock and Selin's Gelbvieh Farms purchased VCR Meeko 10M for $15 500.00 at the Canadian Western Agribtion sale. Meeko is the sire of many of TGF's 2004 and 2005 calves! Meeko was the Saskatoon Fall Fair Grand Champion Bull 2004 and Canadian Western Agribition Reserve Champion Gelbvieh Bull 2004!
