M1 M2 T1 T2 T3 Bar GR Gelbvieh senior herd sire, SLK Zues Black Eagle 42J, from Taylor Farms in Stony Plain, Alberta is homozygous black and homozygous polled! Taylor Farms purchased his Elk Coal Train dam, HAG Taylor's Blk Eagle 103G, from Haglund Ranch in Montana. Taylor's Blk Eagle was in calf to HAG 341F Zuni (Zues son) and produced this exciting outcross genetic package.   Zues Black Eagle is a five star bull in the top 25% for Calving Ease Direct, Birth Weight, Milk, Total Maternal and Gestation. He is moderate framed with a full hind quarter and is outcross to almost all of the popular black AI sires available in Canada today! Zues is the easiest fleshing Gelbvieh bull that we have ever owned and his sons are showing that same potential. All calves  out of SLK Zues Black Eagle 42J were either black or gray (from diluter females). Zues is homozygous black and in 2003, 2004 and 2005 all calves have been smooth polled. On mature cows his calves averaged 92 lbs. at birth and on first calf heifers his calves averaged 79 lbs. at birth. Zues Black Eagle's first set of daughters calved in 2005 at Bar GR Gelbvieh. They are truly an awesome set of little mama cows!Each one has a perfect tight udder, small teats, calved with little assistance, accepted calves immediately, and had quiet dispositions.
