Cady Falls Puppy Reservations

A reservation, accompanied by a $300.00 deposit, determines your place in the "picking order", on a "first come" basis. We ask that you reserve your puppy by gender and type (competitive, companion-hunting or companion). If you choose a competitive puppy, please let us know the type of competition you're anticipating. For those who cannot come to personally select their puppy, we'll do all we can to help you choose a puppy that meets your personal needs and circumstances. The more information you can give us about what's important to you in a dog, the more we can help you in making your selection. Selecting Your Puppy If you are among the first three reservations and cannot come to pick out your puppy personally, you will receive pictures and test results for all the puppies in the litter that correspond to your reservation (as: female/hunting) when the puppies are eight weeks old. Usually the following day, we follow up with a phone call, to discuss the puppies with you and give you any additional information or insights that may help you choose your puppy. If you have the first reservation, obviously, you need only select one puppy. If you have "second pick", we'll ask you to select two puppies, in your order of preference, on the chance that your first pick is chosen by someone with an earlier reservation. ("Third pick" selects three puppies) We ask that you make your choice within three days of receiving pictures, so that those lower on the reservation list may make their selection. The picking process is normally completed within a few days. Although reservations are usually not refundable,  I will take each case individially,  you are not bound to take a puppy from the litter you originally reserved from. If none of the puppies available meet your criteria, your reservation will be moved to another upcoming litter of your choice. Cady Falls Puppies shipping information Whenever possible, we prefer that new owners pickup their puppy at the house. However, we have shipped many puppies via air, and have encountered no real problems. Shipping a puppy is usually more traumatic for the owners (you and me!) than for the puppy. As our puppies are raised in our rec room (close to the TV!) they're exposed to a lot of different sounds, smells and other stimulus from birth. This predisposes them to take new, unfamiliar noises, etc. in stride. An airport isn't exactly big news compared to some of the movies they've slept through! Also, our puppies receive some crate training prior to eight weeks old. Their crate is their "safe place", where they're used to eating and sleeping. During shipping, the puppy feels safe and comfortable in a familiar environment, and seems to ignore or simply be curious about what's going on outside his immediate surroundings. I like getting the crate prior to shipping that way the puppy will get use to it and have his smells in it.  I also ship the puppy with a new towel that is rubbed on the mother and other pups he/she is with.  This helps with the separation anxiety and keeps your puppy calm.  He is also shipped with some type of chew toy that is your puppies making him or her feel more at home. Your Crate You'll have to provide a crate for your puppy to be shipped in. A #200 (Medium) Vari-Kennel or Pet Porter crate is suitable for shipping a puppy at eight weeks, and meets airline regulations. You'll also need crate cups, which the airlines require in the event that feeding or watering is necessary. If you already have a crate, it's a good idea to have it drop shipped to us several days before we ship your puppy. Allowing your puppy to sleep in his new crate for a couple days before shipping will make it feel and smell more like "home", and will increase his sense of security during shipping. If you need to purchase a crate, you'll find that airline prices for crates are significantly higher than many of the dog supply catalogs, such as KV Vet Supply. Ordering a crate on-line, and having it shipped to us can save you some money. Be sure to also order the crate cups, as they're no longer included with crates. (Note: Freight charges for shipping your puppy may be computed by both weight and dimensions. With some Airlines, you may be able to ship in a #300 crate for the same price, while with others, ordering a larger crate that will be suitable for your puppy as he grows will not save you money!) Be sure to look into this before ordering your crate. Health Certificate Our veterinary charges $$$.$$ for a health check and the necessary certification. Be sure to include this amount in your final payment. If your puppy is over three months old when shipped, a rabies vaccination will also be necessary. This will be an additional $$$.$$. Your Puppy will have DNA samples taken and registered with the American Kennel Club. This is a $40.00 fee for this registration which constitutes absolute proof of idenitity and Parentage of your dog.  I will forward the original of the DNA certiticate to the purchaser.  MicroChiped prior to shipping will also be done and registered in your name for External Permanent Identify your dog.  This Charge may or may not be added to the price of the Pup depending upon the agreement made. Destination Airport We are located in Putnam Ct, and usually ship puppies from Bradley International Airport Hartford Ct. or T.F.Green Warwick/Providence RI . Whenever possible, we try to put puppies on a direct flight. If at all possible, try to choose a destination airport that has direct flights from Hartford CT or Providence RI. Choosing A Flight Government regulations require that animals only be shipped when temperatures are between 45 and 85 degrees. In hot summer weather, we can usually ship puppies on late evening or very early morning flights. In the winter, afternoon flights are best. Be sure and check in advance to make sure the airline's cargo department will be open at the time your puppy will arrive at his destination, or very shortly thereafter. It's important that your puppy doesn't have to stay crated in the cargo area for several hours. Airline Regulations Shipping regulations may vary from one airline to another, and may change from time to time. Be sure to read the regulations for the airline you chose carefully. If you're near a large airport, served by several carriers, it's a good idea to do some price comparisions on their websites. If there is a significant price difference, you may want to consider driving a little farther to a larger airport served by an airline whose prices are more reasonable.
