Vaccinating our dogs for illnesses is part of our yearly schedule but im starting to be more afraid of all the vaccines we do give to protect. In Ari's case the vaccine didn't help him one week after being vaccinated for Lyme Disease Shot he developed rear weakness and couldnt stand up. His wonderful owners Josh Turranaky took Ari to the Mass Veterinary Referral Hospital of which Dr Gena Silver Neurology Specialist diagnosed him with Myasthenia Gravis which was triggered by his Lyme shot one week prior. This is a very scarry disease where the Immune system turns on against itself in ari's case it progressed quickly and the decision to put Ari to sleep was made.
With long detailed conversation with Dr Silver it is becoming more common these types of reactions to animals given Vaccines we really need to re think about over vaccination. Dr Silver recommends doing titers on dogs and only vaccinate if levels are low. Also she suggest spacing out ALL VACCINES OUT OVER TIME.

Some very sad news here. Our year and a half old GSP Coco was killed this afternoon in our driveway. My 9 year son Patrick had just returned from a friend's birthday party and as the woman who dropped him off was pulling out of the driveway Coco darted in front of her car and was killed instantly. My son saw the whole thing as he was waiving good bye. We're all devastated.
COCO WILL ALWAY BE REMEMBERED
She was a great dog and a true member of the family. While we didn't show her and had yet to get her in the field, she was obedient and took to training well. As you may recall, she was the high strung one in the litter. She remained so her entire life. I don't think she ever walked anywhere. She was always at a full gallop.

but here's one of my favorites of Coco and Patrick from last August.

In Marks words we will always miss her she was so sweet and our best dog. Mark thinks she went over to a Neighbors house an got into poison and that is what took her life before her time.
