Salvation is of God

What the Bible teaches about salvation

Salvation is the result of what we believe,
not the result of what we do
(Rom. 4:5).

Salvation is by grace through faith
(Eph. 2:8-9).

Salvation is meant to result in good works
(Eph. 2:10).

Salvation is missed by those who,
while having a zeal for God,
try to win God's approval
on the basis of their own right actions

(Rom. 10:1-4).

personal faith in Christ the sole requirement for salvation
(Gal. 3:1-7; Eph. 2:8-9)

*************

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

John 3:36 ALT
"The one believing [or, trusting] in the Son has eternal life,
but the one refusing to believe the Son will not see {the} life, _but_ the wrath of God abides on him."

Romans 5:8-10 KJV
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

John 14:6
  Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

Revelation 1:5-6
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 John 4:10
Herein is love,
not that we loved God,
but that He loved us,
and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 Peter 1:17-23
And if ye call on the Father,
Who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work,
pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear:
Forasmuch as ye know
that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,
[as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation
[received] by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you,
  Who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory;
that your faith and hope might be in God.
Seeing ye have purified your souls
in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned
love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another
with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God,
which liveth and abideth for ever.

John 1:12-14 KJV
But as many as received Him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to
them that believe on hHs name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth.

1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to His abundant mercy
hath begotten us again unto a lively hope
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance
incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away
,
reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept
by the power of God through faith unto salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time.

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed:
“God be merciful to me a sinner.”

Just pray:

“Oh God, I know I am a sinner.
I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross.
I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me.
I now receive Him as my Savior.
I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life,
because of Your merciful grace.
Amen.”

************************

Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith.
Believe, and you will be saved.
No church, no lodge, no good works can save you.
Remember, God does the saving. All of it!

***********************

Do not trust your feelings. They change.
Stand on God’s promises. They never change.

"After you are saved, there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth:

  • Pray -- you talk to God.
  • Read your Bible -- God talks to you.
  • Witness -- you talk for God.

  • *************

You should be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation,
and then unite with a Bible-believing church without delay.
“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord . . . .”
(2 Timothy 1:8)

“Whosoever therefore shall confess [testify of] Me before men,
him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven”

(Matthew 10:32).
