Mewtwo Strikes Back
The first Pokémon Movie was released in Movie Theaters in November of 1999 and was a big success since it was released in the peak of the Pokémon craze.
In my opinion, this movie was great. Can't say I'm exactly crazy about all the bubble gum music for the soundtrack, but hey, Vitamin C's "Vacation" wasn't bad.
The movie is basically about a few scientists who find some DNA of the legendary Pokémon Mew, and decide to clone it while beefing it up in the process. The product of this experiment is Mewtwo, and Mewtwo is NOT a happy camper about him being created to serve humans as a Pokémon. So what does he do? He destroys all the scientists and their lab of course! After rebuilding the lab and claiming it as his own, he then seeks out a few Pokémon Trainers, and that is how Ash, Misty and Brock get involved.
For those who may not have seen the movie, I won't give it all away. But I must say that there is a good lesson to be learned in this movie. And the last 20 minutes are GREAT!
