Supplies Needed: -PSP (this tut was written in PSP 8) download a free trial from JASC -A Line Art of your choice. We have a ton of them loaded into an album HERE. Try to select one that has fairly smooth lines. The one I used in this tut is on page 10 of the album. -Stained Glass patterns of your choice. You can go to the most wonderful site called Spectrum Glass and find some gorgeous selections! I have linked you to their download/terms of use page. Enjoy! **Tips: Make sure your sg patterns are seamless. I use Simple Filters Quick Tile to do that. If you have white space around the pattern you downloaded, just crop it out.** Let's Make some Stained Glass Sigs! 1. Open up your line drawing. Make sure it is sized 100 % for easy viewing. Go to layers/promote background layer. 2. Select your magic wand and have the following settings: Click on the black line and it should select all of it. If not, hold the shift key while you select the other black lines. 3. Go to selections/promote to layer. You should now have a promotoed selection layer that has only the black lines on it, no white space. **(The other way to do this is the select the white areas and cut/delete them out. either way is fine.)** Copy your outline only layer and hide one of them. O n the layer that is visible, select one area inside the stained glass outline. Selections/modify/expand/ 1. Flood fill with pattern/color of your choice. Continue these steps for each area until your outline is completely filled in. **(Tip: to select multiple areas for filling with one color select one area and hold the shift key as you select the others you want to fill with the same pattern. Saves a lot of time!)** Don't worry if you have a little bit of white space inside the fill areas after filling, your leading layer will cover those. 4. Once your pattern has been filled in, unhide your other layer outline and move it to the top layer. select the outline and then go to selections/modify/expand by 1. Delete the black lines by hitting the scissors and keep the outline selected. 5. Now we are going to do the leading. You can do it any color, here is what I do for black/silver or gold. Pick the one that compliments your SG pattern colors. for gold: Flood fill your expanded selection area using color number #C99D42. Add an inner bevel using the following settings: for silver: flood fill with #404040 add an inner bevel using the same settings as you would for gold. 6. Now you can add a drop shadow on the leading layer. I used: 7. Resize your image That's it!
