Grand Lodge/Grand Temple of Ontario Convention

WALLACEBURG, Ontario
The 2004 Grand Lodge/Grand Temple of Ontario Convention was held in Wallaceburg on June 4, 5, 6, 2004. Rokeby Lodge # 9 and Concord Temple # 19 once again hosted the event.
Grand Chancellor Randy Olah and Grand Chief Ruth Baverstock welcomed Supreme Master-At-Arms David Mead and Supreme Chief Georgia Byrd who were in attendance.
On Friday June 4, 2004 the Past Grand Chancellors/Chief's held their Annual Dinner Meetings prior to the Memorial Service commencing at 7:00 p.m. Following the Memorial Service a Hospitality Room was held at the Oak's Inn for all to enjoy.
On Saturday June 5, 2004 a Joint Opening Ceremonies was held in Orkeby Hall at 9:00 a.m. Best wishes for a harmonious convention were exchanged before members from both the Grand Lodge and Temple of Ontario departed to hold their respective meetings.
A banquet was held on Saturday evening. Following a delicious dinner catered at the hall the awards ceremony took place. The following are this year's award winners:
Pythian of the Year - Robert Buckingham - Wallaceburg
Arnold Phillips Membership Award - Rokeby Lodge # 9
Olive Henderson Membership Award - Welcome Temple # 7 and Jubilee Temple # 14
Harry Nettleton Award of Excellence - Sir George B. Symons - Thunder Bay
Dr. Morrow Proficiency Award - Sir Richard Richie - Wallaceburg
Grand Temple Proficiency Award - Kim Densmore - Wallaceburg
Lorraine Mavity Award of Excellence - Carol McCallum - Wallaceburg
On Sunday following our sessions the Officers-Elect from both the Grand Lodge and Grand Temple of Ontario were duly installed for the ensuing term. Grand Chancellor Sir Daniel Doctor from Aurora Lodge # 53 - Ottawa and Grand Chief Kim Bridekirk from Founders Temple # 21 - Petrolia are both looking forward to the year ahead.
