Grand Lodge/Grand Temple of Ontario Convention
The Grand Lodge/Grand Temple of Ontario Convention was held June 2, 3, 4, 2006 in WALLACEBURG, Ontario with Grand Chancellor Sir Daniel Doctor and Grand Chief Agnes Shuman welcoming all. We were excited to have Supreme Chief Kathlene Lacy, Supreme Vice-Chancellor David Mead, Supreme Junior Sheila Stooksberry and Supreme Guard Sandra Symons in attendance. Four Supreme Officers in Ontario all at the same time was a first for us.
On Friday the Past Grand Chancellor Association and Past Grand Chief's met for their annual meetings and dinner. Following their meetings, an impressive Memorial Service was held for our departed Brothers and Sisters. The continuation of service was put on by members from both Founders Temple # 21 and Concord Temple # 19. A lite luncheon was served at the hall before we departed back to the hotel and the hospitality room which was supplied courtesy of Rokeby Lodge # 9.
Following the opening ceremonies on Saturday morning we departed to our respective rooms for our sessions. The Banquet was held at 6:00 p.m. which was followed by the Awards ceremonies and Silent Auction.
The Knight's Sessions were finished on Saturday and their Officers were Installed at their meeting. Our new Grand Chancellor for the ensuing term is Robert Buckingham from Wallacburg.
The Sisters met on Sunday morning. Following their meeting, the Installation of Officers took place for the Grand Temple Of Ontario. Installing Grand Chief Mary Ann Belkwell from Kitchener and her officers-elect were Supreme Chief Kathlene Lacy, Acting Supreme Senior Sheila Stooksberry and Acting Supreme Manager Sandra Symons. Following the installation of officers, members enjoyed a luncheon while waiting for the draws to be complete.
The next convention of the Grand Lodge of Ontario will be held in Wallaceburg on June 6, 7, 8, 2008 while the Grand Temple of Ontario will meet in Thunder Bay June 1, 2, 3, 2007.
Many thanks go out to Rokeby Lodge #9 and Concord Temple # 19 for once again putting on another successful convention in Wallaceburg.
