Imperial Prince Wayne “Buddy” Huber Reception On October 20, 2001 Kathundra Temple #25 D.O.K.K. hosted a reception for Imperial Prince Wayne Huber at the Travelodge/Airlane Hotel in Thunder Bay, Ontario with over 90 family, friends, co-workers and Pythians in attendance.
Out of town guests included: Supreme Chancellor Sir Bobby Crowe, Supreme Prelate Ron Dickinson and his wife Lena, Past Imperial Prince’s Ed Friday, William Shilling, Richard Frank, William Allen and his wife Sydell, Sir Daniel Doctor and his wife Lois, Imperial Adool Irving Rosenthal and his wife Lorraine, Ron Hempfield, Jill Unger-Moder, Harold Seltzer, Dale Gray and his wife Kelly along with Wayne’s daughter Elaine and her children Gabriel, Evan and Maxwell who traveled from B.C. to take part in the celebration for their father and grandfather.
The master of ceremonies for the evening was Past Imperial Azim Bill Butuk. Prior to the meal being served the Elk’s Klown Band entertained us. Following the meal those in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the performances put on by Patsy Cline, Connie Francis, Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley from the Thunder Bay Legends.
Numerous presentations were made to Imperial Prince Wayne Huber throughout the course of the evening. Wayne’s wife Janet presented her husband with a beautiful ceremonial sword.
Imperial Prince Wayne Huber made 4 presentations of his own before we departed for the evening. Imperial Prince Medals were presented to his wife Janet, George and Sandra Symons and Avril Howald for their distinguished service to the Order.
On Friday, October 19, 2001 Imperial Prince Wayne Huber and his wife Janet held an open house at their home for all those wishing to attend. The food that was served was outstanding and the company fantastic. It was a wonderful start to a truly enjoyable weekend.
Brother Wayne is married to his wife Janet and they have two daughters Sarah and Elaine and three grandchildren Gabriel, Evan and Maxwell. Wayne has worked for Bombardier Transportation for 36 ˝ years. He first joined the Knights of Pythias in 1983, became a Past Chancellor of Amethyst Lodge # 49 in 1990, a Past Grand Chancellor in 1995, served as Deputy Grand Chancellor in 1996, is currently serving as a Supreme Representative for Ontario and was appointed Ontario’s Deputy Supreme Chancellor in 2000. He joined the D.O.K.K. in 1985, became a Royal Prince of Kathundra Temple # 25 in 1994, started in Imperial in 1995 and was elected Imperial Prince in August 2001.
