About The Virtual Global Taskforce The Virtual Global Taskforce was created in 2003 as a direct response to lessons learned from investigations into on-line child abuse around the world. It is an international alliance of law enforcement agencies working together to make the Internet a safer place. The Virtual Global Taskforce comprises the Australian High Tech Crime Centre, the National Crime Squad for England and Wales, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the US Department of Homeland Security and Interpol. Jim Gamble, Deputy Director General of the National Crime Squad, is the current Chair. The Virtual Global Taskforce delivers innovative crime prevention and crime reduction initiatives to prevent and deter individuals from committing on-line child abuse. On-line child abuse includes searching for, sharing and downloading images of children being physically and sexually abused and “grooming” children in, for example, chat rooms with the intention of committing sexual abuse both on and off-line.

BBBS International promotes and supports the development of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs throughout the world - operating independently in various countries - and helps them build service capacity and create sustainablity. | 
Big Brothers - Big Sisters began in the USA in the early 1900's after a Children's Court judge identified the need for a mentor program for the young people coming through his court. The first ‘Big Brothers’ were predominantly businessmen who volunteered to befriend a ‘boy in trouble.’ The emphasis, at the time, was on reforming boys by encouraging them into education and the workforce. Big Brothers - Big Sisters was first established in Melbourne as a pilot program in 1980. It was originally auspiced by the Catholic Family Welfare Bureau and operated in the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. The Program was modelled on its American forerunner and successfully adapted to meet Australian needs. The Program was briefly auspiced by the Christian Brothers, and was an independent organisation with a Board of Management from 1988 to 1997. It then merged with Jesuit Social Services, a Melbourne based agency with a particular focus on juvenile justice, where it became part of its preventative arm. In 2001, Big Brothers - Big Sisters Australia Ltd. was set up to facilitate the accreditation of existing Big Brothers/Big Sisters programs and establish new programs across the country.
