Shooting with Panasonic DVX-100 24p Advanced - I recently worked on a project where I got to experience the beauty if the Panasonic DVX-100. We shot on 24 Progressive Advanced Setting (2:3:3:2).After we shot I had to learn what the camera did to the footage and how to edit it. I scoured the web and it seemed that most web sites would tell me a bit of what I wanted to know, but I didn't find a website that told me everything I wanted to know to get me through the process. As a result I put together a web page that goes through the process. It should describe what the Panasonic DVX-100 Advanced Progressive pulldown is doing and how to edit. Enjoy!

Advice to the Short Filmmaker -

Nobody ever said making a short film was a walk in the park, but if you've got a permit to shoot in that park, it's a lot easier. This is just one of many useful tips Andrew Slattery, a young filmmaker from Australia, offers.

Movie Maestro - Looking for a way to add music to your film that matches a specific time? This program claims to do just that. I haven't used this, but want to give the demo a try.
StoryBoard Quick - A great tool for storyboarding for those who can't draw. But even for those who can draw, this allows you to get your shot ideas out there quick. Ihaven't used this program much, just looked at the demo, but it looked great!

By creating limitations, The Shoot Out Boulder asks filmmakers to trust their courage, imagination and determination and make a 7-minute film in just 24 hours. The Shoot Out Boulder makes it possible for amateurs and professionals to achieve their goals, and experience a level of success quickly. It also creates a unique setting for the community to see the filmmakers’ work, and to share in the excitement of filmmaking first hand.

Volks Movie - Here's the link for the website about digital independant filmmaking:

Oxford's Dictionary will eventually define it as:

Volksmovie n & adj. A motion picture made "by the people", not by the movie or television industry, usually produced by an informal alliance of dedicated artists using whatever equipment they can beg, borrow, or do without. Also see volksdolly, volksgrip, volksboom, volksprop, etc.
