Crawfish releaed Godzilla: The Series- Monster Wars with a few changes from its original predecessor, but not too many. First off all, let me get my complaints out of the way. GTS: MW was released on Game Boy Color only this time, so I was expecting dramatic improvements. I'll admit, there was some better graphics, but gameplay didn't differ much from the original (besides a target for the big-G's fireballs), it was insanely easy, and my biggest beef with this game was that the ending is exactly the same as the first game. Well, with that out of the way, lets look at the rest of this game.
Features
Ten levels
More than 16 different enemies
New crosshairs and free-scrolling mode
Based on the Monster Wars mini-series,
with monsters to fight like El Gusano and the
Cryptocleidus and the major Boss, a clone of Godzilla,
Cyber-Godzilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like last years version, Godzilla: The Series 2 is based on the Fox cartoon of the same name. I wasn't aware of the fact that the previous Game Boy Color game did well in stores, but it must have made some money for a sequel to follow it. Its timing was a bit weird, the game came out about a month befor the T.V. Show went off air. This may imply that FOX was not planning on dropping the T.V. Show, but did. FOX has never revealed th reason that they unexpectedly dropped the show.
Anyways, the sequel to Godzilla: The Series is very similar to last year's action game. It's more a shooter than a platformer, where you use Godzilla's abilities like fire breath, claw stomp , and tail whip to defeat the hundreds of pesky little guys shooting pea-shooters at him. Get hit too many times and he'll fall flat on his belly, putting the city underneath it. Okay, he's
not that big.
The new version has been greatly improved from the original. It's been programmed from the ground up as a Game Boy Color only title, which improves the graphic quality and speed of the game. Crosshairs have been added to make shooting far away helicopters and army men a little easier to target. And, of course, there are ten new locations to use Godzilla's destructive power.
Already own the game and your stuck on it? Your kidding me, right? The game is easy! (O.K. I'll admit, I spent a few hours on the last level) Some codes to the game are posted below.
